New room assignments

Today, while trying to collect fees for the trip I was informed by two people that they would be unable to come on the trip. I have worked hard to make adjustments so that there would not be an increase in costs. I had to adjust rooms to make the costs less, enough so that the extra funds available would cover the final bill. We have lost a significant amount of money because of the last minute dropouts. We will need to do some major fundraising in case we do get accepted for the New york trip. Start thinking of ways to fund raise because even if there is no varsity trip this year we will have a jump start for next years costs. Reva will be given a copy of the new room assignments tomorrow and I will have it available at the meeting on Wednesday.

Hello all,
I received the bill yesterday for the hotel and it was a whopper. the final costs are $205.00 minus the amount you fundraised. Some person handed me a bag with candy and money but did not write their name on the bag. every little bit that is subtracted from the costs are good. I have the district permission slip for the trip which needs to be filled out and turned in as soon as possible. the remaining money for the trip is also due as quickly as possible. we are already against the wall for time as the process for getting a check request turned around is significant and it is due rather quickly. I will be consulting with student activities about finding a better way to facilitate the paying of this expense in a more timely manner. If at all possible I need to get as many checks by the meeting next Wednesday as possible. Please let me know if there are any problems ASAP so we are not surprised at the last minute.

Money!

The money for the trip this year will be $205. That does NOT include the fundraising that we have done at the school. So what we need you to do is find out how much money you fundraised, take that off from the $205, and then bring a check made out to NNHS. If you need to know how much you fundraised, come see Mr. Cole! There is one person who did not write their name when they turned in their money so come see Cole if you think that is you!

Contact Information

As Reva said. Organization got a little messed up during winterbreak and we apologize for that. We are doing our best to get back on track but we also need some participation from you guys. If you are going to Chicago then you must be in constant communication with one of the board members or Mr. Cole. You need to attend the meetings from now until the trip because we will be giving out important information about final costs, travel arrangements, and procedures for the conference. We know that sometimes it can be difficult to get to school by 7:15 but it is only once a week for the next few weeks. If you do miss the meeting, you can stop by the science office in the chemistry hallway downstairs and ask for Mr. Cole or you can email or call me. It is very important that we find a way to communicate with all of you since people don't seem to come to the meetings consistently or respond to emails or facebook messages. So, I pretty much always have my cell phone on and with me, although sometimes it is on silent so I reccomend that you leave me a message if by chance, I don't answer. I also have unlimited texting if you prefer to communicate with me that way. My number is 630-862-8813, give me a call or text if you or your parents have any questions in the next few weeks leading up to the conference. We are looking forward to an awesome conference but we need your cooperation to make the next few weeks run smoothly.

New Website

Hey everyone! This website will give us a way to keep in touch with you guys even if we can't meet and you do not need to make an account! First things first, I am emailing out a copy of the committee assignments and room assignments, hopefully you guys will get them. The committees are important because Position Papers need to be in to Cole by the 12th, I know that that is soon, but they really only need to be about a page long and if you have a partner (most of you do) each of you can write on one of the topics so both of you aren't doing both. If you have questions, FIND A BOARD MEMBER! We're willing to help! Also, we will be making an announcement at the meetings, and I'll post it here, but we will be needing the final money in soon so keep and ear out on the announcements for that!
